Jeru Vball

So tonight we had a Volleyball Tournament organized. It was an intense evening.

First off, we played a few pick up rounds just to warm up. Really, it was because the organizer of the tournament was 45 minutes late. We didn't know who was on what team, so we just played.

Finally, Lani showed up with a crowd of missing participants, and it was underway. I was put on Team 5, with my wonderful friends Stacey, Donovan, Micah, and Kristin. We soon came up with the team name  - TEAM STINKEYE! Do I know how we got this name? No. Do I know why we came up with this name? Absolutely not. But lo and behold, we would stand around with spirit fingers and squinting with one eye yelling 'STINKEYE! STINKEYE!' Yea, I know we're weird, but it's awesome. Be jealous. It was my favorite game of the night.

Team Stinkeye won our first game 9-7. It was a good game. After a celebratory dance and chant of our team name with squinty eyes and all, Racquel took our picture. Then, Lani came over to inform me another team was short by one player, so I was moved to team three.

Team three was lacking a name. We never got one either...just team 3, which consisted of Lauren (my roommate in Egypt), Cameron (aka Moses), and Jared (Who holds entire conversations with me in dinosaur). I started stressing out because the team was losing points due to my lack of volleyball skills. We pulled through though, and Lauren came over to me. I thought she was going to yell and me...and she did. "Skyler! Why aren't you smiling?! WHY AREN"T YOU HAPPY!?! THIS IS FOR FUN!! HAVE FUN!!" She was so enthusiastic I ended up backing into a wall trying to get away from her...we were laughing pretty hard. I'm so glad she did that. I was able to loosen up and enjoy the rest of the tournament.

Team Three went on to win the tournament! I've never won anything volleyball related in my life! This is a momentous night!

Also, Micah just told me this: "If life gives you melons, you're probably dyslexic." hahaha. Oh corny jokes.
