This week, I went to Petra! Look what I discovered:

Fun in front of the Treasury at Petra:
It rained the day we were there! Can you believe that? Rain in Petra!
This is the dramatic shot after it was done raining.
I found a camel that I liked. Unfortunately, it didn't like me.
What you don't see in this picture is that about a millisecond later, this camel came very close to succeeding in his attempt to bite my face off. He didn't, thankfully. My heart was racing for quite some time after that, though.
We got to ride horses back, with the owners guiding us back. I was incredibly lucky though - I mounted the horse, and my guide knew I had ridden before. He allowed me to full-out gallop on an Arabian!! All the horses over here are gorgeous. This is my friend Lindsey:
This is how we were welcomed into one of the hotels we stayed in. Epic? I think yes. They only did this for our group.
Get used to seeing raptor fights. We have them everywhere.
King Hussein Mosque in Amman, the capital of Jordan.
These are camel leashes. That's what the shop owners told us.
Oh look! Wild camels blocking the road! No big deal or anything.
More than anything though, I gained a deep affinity for the people of Jordan. They are the kindest people I have ever met in my life - not a single Jordanian I came across forgot to welcome me to their country. I had a wonderful stay there.
